Shanghai Fashion Week Street Style
Atriumvirate of east Asian fashion weeks culminates this month in Shanghai, where local designers join global powerhouses on a jam-packed autumn/winter 2019 schedule.
Chinese-American designer Vivienne Tam has swapped her usual New York Fashion Week slot to present her collection here; French label Faith Connexion will show as a part of the Shanghai International Fashion Showcase; and London-based Jenny Packham is set to close the official Shanghai Fashion Week calendar. Also vying for attention are regional talents like H&M Design Award winner Ximon Lee and rising star Yirantian Guo.
Away from the runway, Shanghai’s street style has lost none of its drama – think kitsch accessories, graphic prints and a whole lot of texture. Voguephotographer Emily Malan seeks out the most strikingly dressed showgoers in the Chinese megacity.
